Maryknoll.org is a website that brings together three separate and distinct entities. These groups share the Maryknoll name but are unique in their positioning and objectives. Even with their distinct differences, however, they share a common philosophy in that they are about people: The people they help, the people who serve, and the people who support it.
To support the initiative for celebrating these unique differences while maintaining the common face of Maryknoll, maryknoll.org has retained Infotek Task Group to conceptualize, analyze and organize the features, feasibility, and function of building a fundraising web channel.
This site, while still in development, focuses on the capabilities needed by each entity, (Lay Missioners, Sisters, Fathers & Brothers) and provides an explanation of how the web channel fulfills these needs. Through extensive research and examination of best practices, we have created a blueprint to help Maryknoll start and succeed in online fundraising.
Taking into consideration the economies of scale and the duplication of functionality, much of what is presented here can be applied to the entire Maryknoll.org site. The architecture provides the foundation and functionality for the other web channels (Education, Vocation, etc.), and also sets the path for future growth.
