The central structure of the Maryknoll Affiliate Movement is the local Chapter. All Affiliates participate in and through their Chapter.

Maryknoll Affiliate Chapters:

• Consist of four or more members.
• Meet a minimum of 3 times yearly.
• Name a person who maintains contact with the Affiliates Office.
• Maintain their own internal structure.
• Obtain their own financing.
• Recommend their members for leadership responsibilities.
• Recommend their members for overseas service.

What is the Affliate Relationship with Maryknoll?

Maryknoll Affiliates participate in Maryknoll's mission primarily by building mission awareness within themselves and in their daily contacts in society.

• Where possible, Affiliates participate directly in Maryknoll's mission activity locally or globally. This includes being involved in Maryknoll's mission promotion and education and cooperation with Maryknoll's Office for Global Concerns.
• Many Affiliates, while maintaining a global vision, do mission work with the national and local church and for their local community.
• Some Affiliates do participate in overseas mission work for short-term periods at Maryknoll Mission sites.

In all of this, the Maryknoll Affiliates assume full responsibility for their activities and their Chapters. While Maryknoll provides some support for the coordination of the movement and the operational expenses involved, Affiliates and Affiliate Chapters are self-financing.
