Many United States veterans who served during the first Gulf War are sick. The mysterious illness or cluster of symptoms known as Gulf War Syndrome, that plague many former members of the armed services is frequently disclaimed by Pentagon brass. However, in Iraqi towns and cities that border the 1991 battle zones, cancer rates have jumped nearly 100% and there is little doubt about the cause. The main ingredient in American bombs today is depleted uranium, which becomes billions of breathable, radioactive particles after initial impact.
